FAQ
-
Where is your olive wood sourced?75% of all materials are sustainably sourced from Italy, the remainder come from Tunisia and Greece.
-
Is it really food safe?Even though most products are purchased for art and decor they all still remain food safe, the backs are left blank and free of engravings for a smooth cutting and chopping surface. If you have purchased our products for a utilitarian purposes then they will require more specific care regiment.

How do I care for my olive wood?Olive wood is meant to last a lifetime, with proper care mad maintenance it will become a family heirloom passed on from generation to generation. Providing proper care is vital to the life of your olive wood purchase. We recommend a soft soap such as dawn and hot water for cleaning, followed by a coat of food grade oil. When picking an oil it is important to choose the correct one. Mineral Oil, Linseed Oil and Grapeseed Oil are all acceptable options. Butcher Block Oil will work as well but due to the density of the grain structure we have found it to not absorb and protect as well as thinner oils. DO NOT USE: VEGTIABLE OIL COCUNUT OIL AVACADO OIL OLIVE OIL OR ANY OIL USED IN THE COOKING OR PREPARATION OF FOOD!!!
-
Can I put my olive wood in the dishwasher?ABSOLUTELY NOT, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD AN OLIVE WOOD P[RODUCT OF ANY KIND BE PUT IN THE DISHWASHER.
-
My olive wood has started to crack or warp, is this normal?Because of the grain structure of olive wood it is more susceptible to warping and cracking than other woods used in the kitchen. Though rare these things can happen and it is nothing to worry about, every house has different environment conditions and these will play a part in how the wood ages.

Is every piece really unique and one of a kind?Yes, it is. This is a huge part in why we love what we do at the Manor, wood in itself is beautiful and will speak to the right owner. Olive wood has a grain like no other, which amplifies its draw to the potential owner. Even when the same art is used to create coaster sets {of four} each coaster will be uniquely different because of the olive wood and its exotic grains. Needless to say every piece ever created will always be a true MISFIT.
